Job description
Provides safety engineering discipline expertise, biased to Active fire
fighting system design and general safety experience and support to other
engineering disciplines to ensure that design for Offshore facilities meets the
necessary International codes and standards.
Liaising with Detail Design Contractor engineers as and
when required to ensure efficient resolution to any issues identified during
the design work.
Reviewing Emergency
escape route layouts, Firewater P&ID’s, safety equipment layouts, Passive
Fire Proofing layouts and reports, emission point layouts, Working Area
Breathing Air system and other general
safety design drawings and technical documents to ensure compliance with the
Project requirements.
Reviewing of the
following:
Vendor
documentation, providing comments where
necessary to ensure alignment with project specification;
Offshore
Safety Philosophy and various safety philosophies to ensure design compliance by Contractors;
Providing specific safety input for Detail Design.
Providing technical safety advice and input to other disciplines during
completion of detailed design execution.
Coaching other less experienced team member(s)
if necessary.
Requirements
Engineering or technical degree or equivalent and not less than less
than 10 years of working experience in the oil and gas industry onshore and
offshore.
5 years of Safety related activities, specifically related to active and
passive fire fighting and general safety
systems.
International Project experience at Detailed Design, Construction and
Hook-Up stages.
Project
environment, detail design and Safety expertise.
